Dated 05/11/2018 Highway Office 12 (Chonburi) is a central government administrative unit under the Department of Highways, Ministry of Transport. It was first established in 1941 under the name "Chachoengsao Highway District," located on Mahachakraphat Road, Na Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province, on land that was royal property. Later, in 1968, the office moved to Choem Chom Phon Road, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, which was originally land belonging to the Ministry of Interior but later transferred to the Department of Highways. The office was then named "Chachoengsao Highway District at Si Racha." In 1991, the name was changed to "Highway Office 12 (Chonburi)." And in 1995, the Department of Highways restructured the office. The government organization was divided into 11 divisions and 26 offices. Highway Office 12 (Chonburi) was upgraded to an office, named: "Highway Office 12 (Chonburi)". Later, in 2015, as announced in the Royal Gazette, Volume 132, Section 5A, dated January 27, 2015, the naming of new highway offices, according to the Ministerial Regulation on the Division of Government Organizations of the Department of Highways, Ministry of Transport, 2015, was changed to: "Highway Office 14 (Chonburi)".
